چکیده

The aim of current research was to investigate kinematics of lower extremity during side step cutting maneuver related to anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury in different male and female soccer positions. Therefore, 18 male and 18 female soccer players were tested for side step cutting maneuver. Kinematics variables (hip and knee flexion and knee valgus) were captured by one camera at 50 Hz from male and female defenders, midfielders and strikers. Current findings showed that there is a significant difference (p=0.05) in knee valgus between all male and female players and also between each of their positions, but there were no significant differences (p=0.05) between hip flexion and also in knee flexion between all male and female and their positions. Authors concluded that female soccer players probably have more ACL injury potential as compared to male players due to their higher knee valgus.

Comparing the Kinematics of the Lower Limb Joints in Jump-Landing Maneuver Among Soccer Players With and Without Histories of Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction

Background: Jumping and landing are common activities in soccer, i.e., associated with Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injuries in the players, especially when experiencing fatigue. The current study aimed to compare the kinematics of the lower limb joints in jump-landing maneuver among soccer players with and without a history of anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction. Methods: Among acti...

The Effect of Side-Cutting Maneuver with and without Anticipating an Increase of Risk Factors of Anterior Cruciate Ligament Injury: Lower Limbs Kinematic Analysis

Background and Aim: Lack of attention to biomechanical parameters during sports maneuvers, especially unpredictable maneuvers can be one of the reasons for athleteschr('39') injuries in sports fields. The aim of this study was to compare the kinematic parameters of the lower limb in side-cutting maneuver with and without anticipation in male football players. Methods: In the present quasi-exper...

Influence of sex and maturation on knee mechanics during side-step cutting.

INTRODUCTION Females have been reported to have a three to five times greater incidence of noncontact anterior cruciate ligament injury when compared with their male counterparts. Previous research suggests that physical maturation is one factor that is associated with the development of potentially injurious lower extremity biomechanics in female athletes. PURPOSE The study's purpose was to ...

Gender differences in hip joint kinematics and kinetics during side-step cutting maneuver.

OBJECTIVE Based on the recent suggestion that proximal hip control may be related to a predisposition to anterior cruciate ligament injury, our purpose was to identify gender differences in hip mechanics between female athletes who previously demonstrated greater knee valgus moments and their male counterparts. DESIGN Descriptive laboratory study. SETTING Testing was conducted in a biomecha...

Influence of gender on hip and knee mechanics during a randomly cued cutting maneuver.

OBJECTIVE To investigate gender differences in three-dimensional hip and knee joint mechanics in collegiate athletes during a randomly cued cutting maneuver. DESIGN Three-dimensional kinematics and kinetics were collected on 24 collegiate soccer players (12 females and 12 males) while each performed the cutting maneuver. In order to create a randomly cued condition, subjects were signaled by ...
